WHY BUILD?
| A few words from our pastor

The psalmist says, “But as for me, the nearness of God is my good; I have made the Lord GOD my refuge” (Psalm 73:28). The nearness of God is a precious thing. Legacy Bible Church is a church intent on seeing people draw near to God in every area of their lives through the gospel of Jesus Christ. But what part do we see a building playing in the goal of drawing near to God?
Refuge
We desire to provide a place that can be a refuge for those coming from a busy, chaotic world. We want people to be able to find a warm, welcoming place where they can see and enjoy God’s beautiful creation and encounter His Spirit dwelling in the hearts of His people.
Relationships
Much of the design of this building centers around creating environments that foster relationships. Besides expanding the effectiveness and reach of our current ministries with basics like an auditorium, offices, and classroom space, we’re thinking in terms of space where relationships happen. Visiting over a cup of coffee in the fellowship foyer or enjoying the view from the terrace with a friend allows individuals to slow down enough to start thinking and talking about the really important things in life: relationship with God, love of others, displaying the gospel to the world. That’s what we’re after.
Resource
God is a giver. He’s given us His Son. We want to be givers as well. We don’t want a building that sits empty six days a week. We want a home base of operations for the work of meeting the physical and spiritual needs of people in Grayson County. We want to use this tool to equip God’s people, but our goal is also to serve others with space and facilities that can be used by the community (meeting space, classrooms, ballfields).
Respond
We will move ahead with the building process in keeping with wise financial stewardship, but we will not incur long-term debt. So we’re asking you to partner with us. Will you be a part of what God is doing? Jesus Christ has given His life for our sins and freed us to live for Him. Let’s use that freedom and all that He has given us to display His love to the world!
