Legacy Student Ministry exists to journey with students as they seek to know Christ, embark on growing healthy relationships, develop into a disciple of Christ and make Christ known in their community and to the world; and to support and encourage parents/guardians as they raise their student in the ways of Christ Jesus.
In Legacy Student Ministry, we desire for middle school students to be AFFIRMED in who God created them to be, where they belong, and how the truths of the gospel connect to their lives.
WEDNESDAY NIGHTS, 5:30–6:45 p.m. - GRADES 6–8
Grades 6–8 gather together to hang out a bit, play a few games, worship as a whole and separate into small groups for teaching led by Nick Rogers. This is a great opportunity for these middle schoolers to grow relationally and most importantly, spiritually.
These groups are gender- and age-specific with an emphasis on discipleship led by college interns and volunteers. Small groups are a time devoted to the students connecting with each other and their leader in reflecting on the message taught.
EVENTS AND MISSIONS
Throughout the year we offer trips for the students to engage with their peers and grow in their relationship with the Lord. We offer retreats, one-day outings, campouts and serving opportunities. As for missions, there are both global and local. We currently have a partnership with a church in Guatemala City and encourage all students to pray about opportunities to serve the Lord in all they do.
In Legacy Student Ministry, we desire for high school students to be MOBILIZED towards taking ownership of their faith, towards being discipled and becoming a disciple maker and towards being transformed daily by the gospel.
WEDNESDAY NIGHTS, 7:00–8:30 p.m. - GRADES 9–12
The high school group meets together on Wednesday nights to engage in a teaching series led by Nick Rogers, but first we play a small game to gather together, followed by worship. After teaching, students break off into their small groups, which are divided by gender and grade. This is an opportunity for high school students to grow together and build friendships centered in Christ.
These groups are split by gender and age. Each student has an opportunity to reflect on the message that was taught. It’s a time for interaction and communication and is a safe place for a student to share his or her thoughts. We really stress the importance of small groups to our students for personal and spiritual growth.
EVENTS AND MISSIONS
Throughout the year, we have events where students can grow relationally and spiritually together. Some examples are retreats, one-day outings, campouts and serving opportunities. We offer both global and local missions, which are fantastic opportunities for high school students. Currently, we have a partnership with a church in Guatemala City and encourage all students to pray about opportunities to be involved with missions such as this.
