David and Francy Paz

Pastor David Paz is a Christ-centered pastor, church planter, and gospel-driven leader serving in Santa Cruz de la Sierra. Raised in a Christian home, David wrestled deeply with questions of faith in his youth before fully surrendering his life to Christ at age 18 during a sermon he himself was preaching on the resurrection. That moment became the turning point that shaped his ministry, giving him a deep conviction that faith must be real, personal, and centered completely on Jesus Christ.

After preparing for ministry through Bible training in Argentina and serving in pastoral leadership, Pastor David helped launch Comunidad Cristiana Esperanza Viva nearly 17 years ago with a vision to build a church centered on Christ, grounded in Scripture, and passionate about reaching those who do not yet know the Lord.

Under his leadership, the church has grown into a thriving, mid-sized congregation with a strong emphasis on discipleship, evangelism, leadership development, and church planting. Pastor David’s vision is simple but powerful: “To be like Christ and help others become like Christ.” He teaches that following Jesus means having the mind of Christ, the heart of Christ, hands that serve others, and feet that carry the gospel wherever God calls.

His ministry is especially focused on reaching the diverse people of Santa Cruz, equipping believers to start discipleship groups in their neighborhoods, schools, workplaces, and communities, and expanding the gospel into unreached areas of Bolivia and South America. Pastor David is passionate about helping the church move beyond the walls of a building and become a living expression of Christ in every corner of the city.

Known for his compassion, and unwavering commitment to Scripture, Pastor David leads with a heart for seeing people truly encounter Christ, grow in maturity, and become disciples who make disciples.
